Magic Tricks
Learn How To Do Professional Magic
Magic tricks are now more commonly available on the internet than it was in the first decade of the 21st century. During then, you may find magic tricks on YouTube but they do not reveal the secrets. Nowadays, you will find magic tricks taught for free on the YouTube but I would say, not profusely. There are more videos on YouTube that teaches you card flourishes than you have videos teaching magic tricks.
So! Are you an enthusiast or curiosity seeker in magic? Does learning a few magic tricks for free on YouTube and trying to impress your friends satisfy you? That’s it? Remember that if you can learn it for free on YouTube, so can the people you show them too. It is public, not secret! Remember the scene on the movie, “The Prestige” where Christian Bale told the boy, “Remember! The secret impresses no one, only the trick does. If you reveal the secret, you will be nobody to them.” That was paraphrased, not in the exact words or exact order. In other words, if you want to learn magic and show it to others, make sure that it is a magic trick that only you and perhaps other magicians know the secret. Not the public. Such tricks are premium tricks which are paid for.
Mastering and performing magic is not an overnight feat. It takes time, effort and dedication to master. When you have master the moves, the sleight of hands, you have to learn how to present it for the maximum effect. That is showmanship. You will have to think through and script your performance. Remember again in the movie, “The Prestige”, Hugh Jackman spoke of Christian Bale, “He is a great magician, but his presentation is bad.” Again, that is paraphrased, not the exact words.
So if you are truly a magic enthusiast, it is time to stop searching for free magic tricks on the internet, on YouTube. Learn it like a professional magician does. Learn magic from the professionals, the professional way. Read, practice, practice and practice. Think through the moves and make improvement to them, customise them to suit yourself. Think of how to present your magic tricks to your audience. Be an original! Not a copy cat.
